Manuka honey is one of the most valued honey varieties in the world due to its anti-pathogenic properties. The monofloral honey is derived from the Manuka tree (Leptospermum scoparium) and has greatly attracted the attention of researchers.

To protect its genuineness the Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI) have identified chemical markers to ensure the authenticity of all Manuka honey packed in New Zealand. The required levels of the markers are found here: MPI Manuka Honey Science Definition.

BeesMagic® Manuka honey is outperforming the minimum standards laid down by the New Zealand government, providing our clients with the highest quality of Manuka honey at any point in time.

Honey bearing the BeesMagic® trademark is 100% genuine, authentic and non-adulterated. Based on the organoleptic requirements of our clients we can supply genuine Manuka honey from different regions.

Following, you find MPI Manuka Honey Science Definition marker levels of various BeesMagic® Manuka honey samples of two selected regions (MPI minimum levels in "green" ):

Region 1

Region 2

As you can see, our Manuka honey from region 2 has far higher levels than region 1. All 10 samples tested were 100% genuine, authentic and non-adulterated monofloral Manuka honey batches. Consequently, the appearance and organoleptic properties of those honeys can be expected to be different.

BeesMagic® Manuka honey batches exceed the MPI minimum levels significantly. In the examples mentioned above the MPI chemical markers were surpassed by 65% - 1700%.
